Winter Sleep

£35

This set was probably the set that took the most out of me. It was quite challenging, considering the fact that I couldn't feel my skin and any blood flow. We worked super fast and I tried to soak up that same cold into the poses and into my expression. This set was inspired by the movie "Winter Sleep" which in turn is an adaptation of the play "The Wife" by Chekhov. The state of hibernation and pneumonia is my central piece for my poses.

To enter within the mood of this set, I recommend you to see the film or read these few lines from Sarah Kane. After that, draw me with this music as a background.

"-Someone has died who is not dead.

-And now we are friends.

-It's not my fault, it was never my fault.

-Everything that happens is supposed to happen.

-Where you been?

-Here and there.

-Leave.

-Where?

- Now.

-There.

-Because love by its nature desires a future.

-I don't want to grow old and cold and be too poor to dye my hair. I don't want to be living in a bedsit at sixty, too scared to turn the heater on because I can't pay the bill. I don't want to die alone and not be found till my bones are lean and the rent overdue.

-A small boy had an imaginary friend. He took her to the beach and they played in the sea. A man came from the water and took her away. The following morning the body of a girl was found washed up on the beach.

-What's that got to do with anything?

-Clutching a fistful of sand.

-Everything.

-What's anything go to do with anything?

 -Nothing.

-Exactly.

-That's the worst of it.

 -Nothing."

  • The camera used was a Sony a6000 and the photos were taken in RAW, the set was taken during an enchanted morning from the only week of snow in London in 2022
